Animals can make great subject for photographs, but they can also be very difficult to take good pictures of. They’re not always compliant with your plans, so if you need them to sit still, or to pose at a certain angle, they might well have other ideas. You can certainly take very good photos of animals, but it might not always be easy.

One of the main things you will need to be a good animal photographer is patience. This is applicable whether you are trying to take photos of animals in the wild and it is all a waiting game, or you are taking portraits of pets in a studio. All animals will move around and may be difficult when they are the subject of your photographs. This means you might have to use a different setting on your camera, such as one that is set up to capture subjects in motion – this will remove the blur.
