Wedding Photographers: A dangerous game

Posted on March 12, 2015 at 11:22 am

So let us picture the situation; it is your wedding day. First of all congratulations! Second of all there is a lot to consider for your big day. I won’t bore you with the entire list of things, you can look forward to that yourself, but one of the things that you will need to do to savour that day and make it last forever is have lasting memories committed to photographs. But you can’t just have any old hack take pictures of you and your loved ones on your special day, not just any old Joe with an iPhone snapping you in your beautiful clothes.

So you will need a wedding photographer. You can look online, look in the Yellow pages or the local paper but it is important to find someone you trust. Ask around your friends who have got married, or your colleagues at work. They have to be good, they have to be understated and they have to capture your day perfectly. Choose wisely.

Being Photogenic: Is there a secret to it?

Posted on February 15, 2015 at 9:26 pm

Some of us struggle through life with various problems; some people are short, some people are a little bit larger, some have dodgy joints, some have bad backs and, for some of us, the real unfortunate few, are extremely unphotogenic. We are an unlucky bunch, while our friends and families stand in photos, beautiful, natural, with wide grins, perfect cheekbones and impeccable skin. But what is their secret? Or is it all natural? Do models have something in their genes that make the camera love them? Or is it a trick of the lense, maybe a trick of the camera or the skill of the photographer?

Scientists have mixed responses to the question; and for those of us who do struggle to look good in photos it is not good news. Genetics are key to their success; but there is a little bit more to it. Work on your angles, pick a best side and get someone to take a whole bunch of photos of you and just pick the best one! No one needs to know our pain!
