Finding a Photography Partner

Posted on February 27, 2014 at 1:44 pm

Photography is certainly a tough industry to break into, and that’s why it can be important to find a partner who is at the same level as you with the same goals – and preferably the same type of photographic style.

Wedding photography is not usually done with one person, and it’s a team effort and this is essentially the same for many types of photography, including events and studio. If you’re looking to become a wedding photographer then it’s going to be extremely difficult to do the job on your own.

If you’re involved in photography then it’s going to be highly likely that you have contacts in the industry while you can build relationships with other photographers online. A photography partner can be your way into the industry, and you should start building your contacts now if you want to break into the industry.

Working on your Photographic Style

Posted on January 20, 2014 at 11:12 pm

Every photographer should have their own photographic style. When we speak about a photographic style, we essentially mean a visible approach to photography.

Every professional photographer will take a photograph in their own way, with their own stamp, and it can actually be relatively easy see a picture and then be able to tell which photographer took the image.

If you look through a professional photographer’s portfolio, you may begin to see a small theme or s certain way of post processing which remains the same in their images, and if your photographs tend to look completely different and out of touch, then it’s important to start working on your photographic style.

Some photographers will only choose to shoot in black and white, others may take high contrast vibrant images, while others may take photographs of similar subjects, therefore their photographic style is within their subjects.

There’s easy way to decide on a photographic style, but by taking photographs and learning new skills you will begin to find a style that you like, one that stays with you and it could set you apart from the crowd.
